Executive Comment
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, described the tax cut as a “progressive reform” aimed at making personal mobility more accessible. He confirmed that Tata Motors will pass on the entire benefit to customers across its portfolio.
Timing Ahead of Festive Season
With the festive season approaching, the revised pricing is expected to boost demand significantly. Tata Motors has urged customers to book early, as deliveries are likely to face longer waiting periods once the new prices come into effect.
GST 2.0 Impact on Vehicles
The latest GST reforms lower the tax rate from 28% to 18% for compact cars powered by petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG, and hybrid engines. The reduced rate applies to vehicles with engines under 1,500 cc and length up to 4 metres, benefiting both entry-level and premium segments.
This move enhances the value proposition of Tata’s models while reinforcing the brand’s competitiveness in a growing automotive market.
